PJ Library Hanukkah Event 2015

Oh Channukah! Oh Channukah!

PJ Library & Shalom Baby hosted their annual Channukah event at Temple Beth Sholom with over 40 families in attendance.  As always, it was fantastic having CITY LIGHTS MUSIC TOGETHER there to interact with our children. We sang songs, played music and explored different musical instruments. Other activities included, art projects, dancing, and enjoying a traditional Channukah treat,  Sufganiot (jelly donuts).

“It was so wonderful to see families from all over the Valley come together to sing and dance with CITY LIGHTS MUSIC TOGETHER,” said Esther Rothman, a Shalom Baby/PJ Library parent. “The children loved coloring in their pictures which they could stick on a window and do black magic drawings too!”

It was wonderful to see new families meet each other and friends having the opportunity to reconnect, while their children were entertained.

Future PJ Library events include a High Tea event hosted by Midbar Kodesh on January 10, 2016 where children will have their favorite PJ Library books read in a cozy tea party environment.  There will also be wonderful crafts and activities for the children as well as a “high tea.”  Both little ladies and mini mensches are welcome.

PJ Library and Shalom Baby are both programs of The Jewish Federation of Las Vegas, are consistently providing fun, interactive and unique programming for Jewish families across Southern Nevada.  In conjunction with regular programming, the PJ Library mails free, high quality Jewish children’s literature and music to families across the continent on a monthly basis.

Shalom Baby is designed to welcome newborns and their families to our Jewish community.  Thanks to a generous grant from the Brenden Mann Foundation, expectant parents that sign up for Shalom Baby receive a special diaper bag filled with a Kiddush cup, candlesticks, tzedakah box and a Shabbat board book and a Shalom Baby bib.

PJ Library & Shalom Baby is partnering with many Synagogues, schools and organizations to do events all over the valley.  We are happy to be involved in promoting Jewish values and Jewish experiences within our diverse community.  Please check out our Facebook page and The Jewish Federation of Las Vegas website for all program details.
